Is Yeast Infection Contagious?
Is yeast infection contagious? The answer, believe it or not, is not as easy as it may sound. It all depends on a variety of things. Under certain circumstances it can really be considered contagious, yet it cannot be “caught” like the common code.
One instance where a fungus infection can really spread a lot is where there is poor hygiene. If there are many people using the same toilet facilities and they are not cleaned very well, it is actually very easy to get a Candida infection if someone has one.
For cleaning purposes high traffic facilities should really be cleaned more than once a day. It is also important to make sure the cleaning rags are washed well afterward and that they are rinsed out well, not scrunched up in a ball, but open so that all the cleaning liquid and germs can rinse out from between the fibers.
As the fungus infection can spread by direct contact with the spores, it is very easy to get it from your partner. So, if one partner has a yeast infection the other must be treated as well. If not, you will simply keep on re-infecting each other all the time.
As far as a skin fungus infection it is once again simply good hygiene that will prevent you from getting it if another member of the family has one. Make sure baths and basins are kept hygienically clean, not just clean looking.
If someone has a Candida infection in the mouth, remember that there will be spores in the saliva so all eating utensils, cups, plates and more has to be washed very well. No kissing, of course.
So, I think this should answer your more general question of “Is yeast infection contagious.
