Is is possible for a woman to have a yeast infection for 3 months?
My long distance girlfriend has had a yeast infection for over 3 months and I’m starting to wonder if she just doesn’t want to sleep with me! She has a few shady guy friends that she hangs with every so often… She has been to the doctor and just purchased $300 worth of prescription meds for it, and we did sleep together a few times after a couple months when she thought it was mostly cleared up. Do prescription yeast infection meds cost $300 or is she buying STD meds?

I had a yeast infection after delivering my twin babies, and the doctors made me come in RIGHT away to get it cleared up. Prolonged exposure to an infection down in that area can lead to long term problems like PID (pelvic inflammitory disease) which can ultimately lead to uterine/ovarian cancer. ALSO… if she has health insurance, meds cost little to nothing. (you can get over the counter meds as well that cost from seven to twenty dollars as well and are just as effective) If her doctor “isn’t that concerned” that he let this go on for three months he should have his licence revoked. How often do you see her? if it is only three times in three months she may be having reoccuring episodes, or it may actually be a bladder infection or uti, and the meds should be changed. If you see her again, MAKE her go to the er if she still has the “yeast infection”. She needs to get it fixed NOW if its for real. And if its not that, you will know. Good luck, I know long distance relationships are hard to begin with. Hope all is right, and nothing is fishy… : )
